 Lesson Plan for TPACK integration

Learners: 8th Grade Mathematics
Learning outcomes: At the end of this activity students should be able to understand how to solve absolute value equations
Assessment: Assessment will be done through homework assignments and end of chapter test. Points will be given by assignments that are turned in. The final assessment will be conducted by an end of chapter test.

Break down of lesson:
·        The lesson will begin with a review of what are absolute values for about ten minutes.
·         For about twenty minutes, we will go over the lesson and work through problems throughout this lesson by using the SMARTBoard and workbooks.
·        For the last ten minutes of class, we will start homework and ask questions on any problems they may have.

Reflection

Pedagogical-Content:

·        Verbal examples will be used to explain the problems to students. There was also practice and examples to show understanding. This will help students see each other’s work and strategy.
·        I will start the lesson by reviewing what needs to be known before the upcoming lesson. With the help of students who remember and know the previous lesson, we can show the students how the lesson needs to be done and the understanding of the lesson.

Technological-Pedagogical:

·        The technology I will use will help students learn visually. Examples will be shown to help understand the lesson. This technology will help the students communicate and discuss with the teacher and students.

Technological Pedagogical Content:

·        Technology helps understanding and comprehension.  Students can see the problems similar to what they will be doing on the board in front of them.
·        The lack of technology would keep the students from interacting. Students will not be able to show or communicate how well they understand the lesson.
